The Financial Industry Complaint Service (FICS) was external dispute resolution scheme funded by Financial Planners holding a license form ASIC known as an AFSL (Australian Financial Services Licence). Although FICS has now been replaced by a Goernment body known as FOS (Financial Ombusman Serice), it is important in the Westpoint and other stories as it was the ASIC preferred option when one had problems with one's financial planner.
